They called it voodoo. We just call it the good bottle.

Voodoo Vodka is named for a woman the locals called a marvel. The ‘voodoo’ was never a religion and never a claim — it was their nickname for anything Quatrine Devereaux made that worked too well to explain. Her grain spirit was the most famous of those things.

The object

The most characterful bottle on the back bar.

Faceted crystal, a plum wax cap, a hand-tied poppet on the neck, and a gilded Catrina who looks like she has stories. Made to be kept long after the last pour.

After dark, on the porch

Made for the good evenings.

A little doll on every neck.

Every bottle ships with a hand-tied poppet on the neck — linen, twine, a thread of marigold. It's a keepsake in an old folk-craft lineage, the kind of small made thing you keep on a shelf because someone clearly made it by hand. No wishes. No agency. Just a good little doll.
